Head-on collision in New York resulted in fatality, several injuries

It is tragic when life-saving efforts by rescue workers and hospital medical teams are not enough to save the life of a person involved in a motor vehicle accident. Sadly, a recent New York crash resulted in a fatality, as well as injuries to several others. Cases like this one often prompt litigation in civil court.

It was approximately 2:25 p.m. when the head-on collision occurred. In the rescue effort that immediately followed the incident, four people were transported to a nearby hospital for emergency care. One of them, a woman in her 30s, did not survive the injuries she suffered upon impact. There are often more questions than answers when two vehicles wind up heading straight for each other on a New York roadway.

Police say investigations remain ongoing following this particular tragedy. They have provided a phone number for anyone who may have been a witness to the collision to call and report information. It is not uncommon for investigations like this to take weeks, even months to conclude. Grief is always intensified when there are multiple injured victims and fatality associated with a collision.

If a New York driver is believed to have been negligent in a collision, and his or her negligence directly caused an injury or death to another person, a recovering victim or immediately family member of a fatally injured victim may file a legal claim seeking compensation for damages. Such damages often include emotional trauma, loss of wages from employment during recovery and, in fatal cases, funeral expenses, as well. Anyone in need of legal guidance and support regarding the process of filing a claim may request a meeting with an experienced personal injury attorney.
