Safety at a construction site

Employment trends are recorded by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, a division of the U.S. Department of Labor. Trends show that approximately 6 million people are employed in the construction industry which accounts for almost 4% of the nation's workforce. This figure is expected to increase to a 7.4 million by the year 2022. Thus, the construction industry is blooming and growing.

However, construction workers face constant on-the-job safety hazards. Of all worker fatalities in the year 2012, 19.6% resulted in the construction industry. The major causes included falls, electrocution or being struck by an object. Construction workers are also subject to increased risk of non-fatal injuries requiring days away from work, the leading cause being falls. Safety rules and regulations must, therefore, be strictly followed at all times to reduce on-site accidents and fatalities.

When filing a legal claim, many aspects of the incident need to be considered in detail such as observance of all safety regulations by the employee, party liability and engineering faults. If you are an employee who has been injured in a construction accident and you think that someone might be at fault for the said accident, you should consider contacting a lawyer to review your case and file a claim. A lawyer experienced in construction accident liabilities can help you receive the rightful compensation for your injuries.
