The Law Firm of Brenna Boyce proudly announces the expansion of its business and commercial practice, hiring Rochester attorney William P. Smith, Jr. to lead the firm's team in this area of legal practice.
"Our firm has experienced significant growth in our commercial law practice, especially increased litigation activities," said Robert Brenna, Jr., the firm's Senior Partner. "In order to respond to this growth and deliver the best legal services to our clients, we have focused more attention on commercial cases and formed a dedicated business litigation department. We have selected Bill Smith to lead it, and we are honored to have someone with his experience and integrity join the firm."
Mr. Smith brings many years of litigation experience from larger law firms in the Rochester area, as well as the New Hampshire area where he practiced after graduating from Cornell Law School almost 25 years ago. Working with Brenna Boyce will give Mr. Smith the opportunity to be more hands-on in his legal practice.
"I'm delighted to be joining such a highly-recognized and successful boutique-practice law firm specializing in personal injury law," said Mr. Smith. "My experience will mesh very well with the ambitious growth strategy that Brenna Boyce has undertaken, and I'm looking forward to working in a broader area of cases and clients with the firm."
Mr. Smith focuses on trial practice and alternative dispute resolution on behalf of both businesses and individuals. He has been successful in securing multi-million-dollar verdicts and recoveries on behalf of seriously injured people, and has represented numerous individual and corporate clients in commercial litigation, including one of the "big three" US auto manufacturers in product liability litigation. Mr. Smith has litigated cases involving construction litigation, medical device manufacturers and suppliers, as well as regional and national corporations' legal disputes, not just individuals seeking redress for injuries and employment disputes.
Prior to joining Brenna Boyce PLLC, Mr. Smith spent the majority of his career at large regional firm Woods Oviatt Gilman, LLP, where he was a partner and served as the Chair of the firm's legal Recruiting Committee for ten years.
Mr. Smith has been active in supporting numerous charities and served on the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army. Presently, he enjoys coaching youth sports. Mr. Smith has served as both Head Coach and Assistant Coach for Rochester Youth Hockey, and has coached and managed baseball through Pittsford Little League.
Mr. Smith lives with his family in the Town of Pittsford.
